Details

Wyeast 1272 American Ale II is a consistent versatile "house" strain perfect for many American styles. Expect a soft, clean profile with hints of nut and a slightly tart finish.

Recommended Styles include Blonde Ale, American Pale Ale, American Strong Ale, American Amber Ale, American Brown Ale, American IPA, Double IPA, Speciality IPAs, American Barleywine, and American Porter.

ABV: up to 10%

Tips and Tricks:
To bring out hop character and increase fruitiness ferment at warmer temperatures.

My "House" yeast Review by Matt

1272 is hands-down my go to yeast for most of my brews. It finishes cleaner than 1056, ferments down harder, and faster, and "Flocs out" insanely well. Don't be shocked when you find around a 1/2 gallon of spent yeast cake at the bottom of your primary on racking day when using this beast. Under optimal conditions, 1272 has completed fermentation from OG to FG in less than 36 hours on my pale ale. I can't praise this strain of yeasty-beasties enough!!! If you like brewing pales, IPA's, or need a good starting strain for a barleywine, this is the yeast for you. Cheers!!! (Posted on 8/9/2016)
