In this episode, we have friend of TBI, yeast expert, and North American Technical Sales Manager for FermentisKevin Lane, back in studio with us to tell us about his experience with the Safale K-97 and Saflager S-189

The K-97 is a German ale strain known for clean flavor and dense Krausen and the S-189 is a lager strain from the Hurlimann brewery in Switzerland known to be great for styles ranging from malty Bocks to crisp Pilsners. These two dry yeasts are not be new to the homebrew world, but for a while you couldn not get them in the 11g packs. Now you can again!

Because we recorded this episode Just before March, we also discuss the classic Marzen style of beer. The moderate strength amber lager brewed in the spring to be served during Oktoberfest. Luckily for us, Kevin brought in a few samples to try.
