Yeast Nutrients

When yeast ferment your precious wort or must, they need more than the sugar water alone. That’s where yeast nutrients come into play. Generally blended to contain amino acids, inorganic nitrogen (ammonia), B-vitamins, sterols, unsaturated fatty acids, and autolyzed yeast, these nutrient mixes are meant to support the growth of healthy yeast for improved fermentations and to eliminate the possibility of a stuck fermentation in a high gravity beer or low nutrient must (for example, meads).
