    This yeast works best when adding to a flask on a stir plate for a day or two. Expiration date was just in line with what I was needing and I was able to cultivate to use in an Irish Red ale. Turned out excellent.

    So I thought this was just like any other yeast pack, just open and pitch. I got it wrong on the first batch. I actually read the instructions on the second batch and you are supposed to smack the package to activate the yeast with included yeast nutrients.This stuff is so highly active you could see it working almost as soon as you pitch it.
