Omega Hornindal Kveik (OYL -091) Yeast is another unique kveik originating from the farmhouses of Norway. We preserved the original blend of strains to bring the best possible complexity. Hornindal produces an intense tropical flavor and aroma with notes of fresh pineapple, mango, and tangerine. Compliments fruit-forward hops as well as adds another dimension to beer made with traditional “C” hops. Warmer fermentation temperatures will increase the aromatic profile and fermentation speed. Non-phenolic. Like Hothead and Voss Kveik, it ferments well without off flavors at 90+° F.

Temperature : 70-95° F (21-35° C)
ABV: up to 12%

This yeast is a beast. Took my 1.070 ipa down to 1.008 in two days. This will replace Cal Ale yeast for my IPAs where I want tropical/citrus hops to shine. (Posted on 3/28/2019)
Good yeast, no off flavors at ~78-85F fermentation temp Review by William
Got this yeast just to see how clean it ferments at higher temps. Brewed a DIPA (pliney clone) with a slight modification to the hop schedule and grain bill. Resulting beer was full of tropical aroma (partially due to the hops I believe) with no off flavors detectable. The attenuation was at ~90% for this run. I can't say whether or not it produced a significantly different flavor from a California Ale yeast or San Diego Super as it was my first time brewing this recipe. (Posted on 7/9/2018)
