S-04 is a favorite dry yeast to use in the production of a wide range of English beer. It is known for its fast fermentation and very compact sediment at the end of the fermentation helping to improve beer clarity. Flavors and aromas are slightly fruity with an earthy English character.  This yeast is recommended for a large range of English ales and is especially well adapted to cask-conditioned ales.

Left some fruitiness or something... Review by Eric
This yeast attenuated fine but really affected the taste of the brew more than I expected. It wasn't my fave. I brewed an IPA and split the batches, using S-05 on one and this one, S-04 on the other. The S-04 gave it a weird fruitiness that may be better suited for a different style, so I'm willing to try it again on an English style. (Posted on 4/11/2017)
