The 5 gallon carboy is the perfect size to be used as a secondary fermenter for beer . It can also be used as a primary fermenter for 3 gallon wine kits, or for homemade batches of wine or mead. Using a glass carboy for fermentation allows you to monitor the process, and check/admire the color and clarity of your beer or wine. Perfect for aging / clarifying / long-storing wine and beer, the tapered neck of this glass carboy minimizes headspace, and reduces the chance of oxidation.
